Our babies are one.
ONE.
How did this happen?
Didn't I JUST have them? I'm pretty sure it was yesterday that we were watching my belly dance around, I needed a push to help me roll out of bed, and I couldn't help but giggle when I caught sight of myself in a mirror.
Fortunately, planning a party took my mind off the fact that they were actually going to turn one. And after a little persuading, I convinced Jesse that we needed to go to Utah and celebrate the boys' birthday with our families and close friends.
Over the course of a few weeks, my mom and I spent a few hours on the phone perfecting the details of our Mustache Bash.
{Briggs in blue, Ian in orange}
She is seriously awesome and made A TON of things, including a photo booth (which my talented father spear-headed), photo props, a whole bunch of decorations, and ensuring there were important things such as table cloths, utensils, and napkins. I don't know what I would do without her.
We ate pizza, decorated cookies, ate cupcakes, played in the photo booth, had pin the mustache on the baby, as well as every mustache accessory you can think of from stick-on staches, to necklaces, to straws, to blowers.
We had a wonderful turn out and loved spending the day with family. Thanks to everyone who made the effort to come! We love and appreciate all of you!
These boys are so loved.
And probably photographed way too much. I think I added up 510 photos between Wednesday and Saturday in northern Utah, and then I took a few hundred more in southern Utah.
Poor kids.
I guess they'll have well documented lives.
Hopefully their future siblings get at least a few pictures taken of them.
And now, since I literally have hundreds of pictures, here's a relatively small sampling, in no particular order since I'm too lazy to edit too thoroughly!
{Shout out to my SIL Mindy for making these awesome Smash Cakes (or should I say STACHE cakes? haha. I'm hilarious.}
{Jesse even shaved his hard-earned beard into this awesome mustache in honor of the theme}
{Their one little non-related friend, Hunter who is three months old. I'm pretty sure they're all going to be buddies when they get bigger. Along with their missing California buddy.}
They loved this rocking chair of Mimi and Papa's, like all grandchildren who have gone before.
And don't mind the little banner in the back, I was doing a little experimenting, but it didn't quite work how I envisioned. Next time I'll know what I'm doing.
We had to hold them back at the beginning of the Cake Smash.
We found Ian was really into the cake while Briggs preferred to stay cleaner.
And of course this mama didn't plan far enough ahead to remember they would be a big mess after eating cake, so off to the sink it was!
Thanks again to Mindy for cakes, Joanna for cookies, Macey's grocery store for saving our day by fixing cupcakes that took a tumble, and both Moms for everything else!
It was so joyous for us too!
