Christmas is my favorite time of the year.
I love everything about it.
The lights, the stockings, the food, the family gathering, the feeling in the air... I love it all.
Our Christmas this year was spent with my family up at our house.
Because of our cruise over Thanksgiving, I was scheduled to work Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and the day after Christmas. We had hopes that I would be put on call one of those days so we could actually enjoy Christmas and if not, we would celebrate the Sunday after.
The day after Christmas, I received a phone call at 5:30am (the usual time is closer to 5:15am so of course I was panicking) telling me my shift was cancelled that day so we got a surprise Christmas! I quickly woke up Jesse and we waited until 6am before we woke up the rest of the family, yes even our toddlers, and we had Christmas!!
My mom made the boys these drawstring backpacks and loaded them full of fish toys. It was probably the highlight of Christmas. These boys are still obsessed with underwater creatures.
Close contenders included Jesse's noise cancelling headphones.
These hilarious football cleats my dad gave my mom (which in their defense came with a check for new running shoes)
Bow and arrow target practice
And this husband designed floor mat
I absolutely love having my house full of family, love, and laughter.
I got a kitchen Christmas. I love kitchen bowls, gadgets, cookie jars, etc. so these were a treat.
It was a snow filled Christmas as well, so of course we had to spend some time outside in the snow.

That night we went up to Temple Square to enjoy the spirit of the temple and see the lights.
We tried not to freeze, but it was hard when the temperatures were in the teens that evening.
My cute grandparents joined us.
Seriously, they are adorable. And know how to dress for the frigid north land.
These boys. They have my heart.
It should be noted that my little sister knitted all of us beanies for Christmas. She's super talented. And our beanies are awesome.

I know I have said it over and over again, but I just adore my family.
Christmas with them was the best!
