Fathers

I know I'm incredibly late but I just wanted to tell my dad thanks for everything he has taught me and done for me.

Here are some reasons why I love and appreciate my dad.
-He taught me to work (I didn't like it at the time but boy is it paying off now)
-When I was a kid, he would wrestle with me and my brother all the time.... we loved it.
-He is an incredible rhymer and always makes birthday scavenger hunts an adventure.
-I used to love when he would jump on the tramp with us. He could make us bounce SO HIGH!
-He taught me how to back in a boat.... and that took some patience and lots of practice.
-He comes to our house bringing gifts of watermelon, grapes, peanut M&Ms, cashews, chocolate covered almonds, and a bag full of other random odds and ends when he drops off my sister to stay for a weekend.
-He was always my ride buddy at Lagoon.... until my siblings got big enough to ride all the rides.
-He brings in his scriptures and helps me through some tough times.
-He always initiates family prayer and makes sure it happens.
-He can cook some really good meals.
-He works hard and plays hard
-He tries everything. Even though he is a great skier he has still wakeboarded and snowboarded, just for the experience.
-He has gone sky-diving with me...... twice. (And I've heard he's heading for a 3rd time with my brother Brad for his 18th birthday)

Thanks for all you've done dad. I love you!


And an Honorable Mention....
I also have a wonderful father-in-law. Thanks for all you do as well. I asked Jesse if he'd like to say a few words about his dad but since he's a man of few words all he said was "You Rock"
So there you have it.

So long BYU.....

Well I'm a little sad to say that my BYU days are over. But I'm off to UVU come this fall for nursing school! I'm thrilled! Hard work does pay off, and now I have an end in sight. YAY! Jesse will still represent our family at BYU, but we may start incorporating a little more green into our wardrobe.

Dorius Family Reunion

Well after a lot of missed turns, unintended sight-seeing, and a 2 1/2 hour trip that is only supposedly a 47 mile journey, we arrived at the cabin to have a Glorious Dorius Reunion.This is the amazing cabin we stayed at. Couldn't have asked for anything better!

Jesse and I dressed for the occasion of course. We heard it was a dude ranch so we pulled out all the cowboy things we own... yes we're awesome.

To top it all off, it doesn't get better than seeing cute little boys peeing in the woods! He's actually a twin, so lucky for us we got to see this scene twice!

After the cabin.... it was off to the lake!

We had been on the lake for about 10 minutes. My dad was skiing and my mom was telling us all about how great this new visor of hers is. She told us it doesn't blow off like her other ones seem to. It wasn't 30 seconds later when the visor blew off. My dad tried to catch it but couldn't quite get it, so of course we had to turn around and see if we could find it. Luckily it floated so we drove close, Kadin sacrificed for the team, and here was the victory picture! He's so cute!

Tube War teammates. The elbow protection pads are mom-made and work perfectly! No more skinned elbows for us. Take that tube!

My uncles are pretty impressive skiers... here's my uncle mike catching some air.

Brad is also an impressive wakeboarder. That kid can jump!

Ninjas at the lake? Apparently.

Mike's fishing boat decided to not start so we gave them a life to the dock. It was probably the fastest way for them to get there!

My grandpa

This is a picture of my grandpa and grandma Skalla the day Jesse and I got married. My grandpa unfortunately passed away about a month later. I was really sad that he would not get to see any of our kids and that we could no longer go visit him and thinking poor me. Then I thought of how lucky I was that he was able to be there for my wedding. I remembered how he would play hours of games with me and my siblings and had the most patience I have ever seen in a person. He is one of my heroes. I was lucky to have had such an amazing grandfather and even am privileged enough to be named after him. He was one amazing man.

Well on June 5th we had the opportunity to go through the St. George Temple and participate in my grandpa's temple work. We were lucky enough to participate in the endowment session and the sealing between my grandpa and grandma and mom and also sealing my grandpa to his parents. It was such a great feeling being in the temple that day and sealing my family together. I really felt that my heart was being turned to my fathers and I caught a small glimpse of eternity. I am so grateful for the gospel in my life and for my knowledge of life after death. I cannot wait to see my grandpa again and feel so privileged to have been a part of his temple work.

Things that make me happy.

I was just thinking about some things that make me happy and I thought I would share a few:

The Temple. The St. George Temple is stunning, but all Temples make me happy!Hanging out with my husband

The fact that we're married! It still catches me off guard sometimes! We love being married!

My wedding ring. I think it is gorgeous!

My sweet husband. He is amazing! And quite handsome.

Vacations! Especially Cancun... I love that place.

Candlelit macaroni and cheese dinners

These cookies. They are amazing!

My awesome friends. They are stellar girls and I love them.

My family. They are just so much fun!

The lake. Wakeboarding and tube wars are particularly spectacular.

Fireworks! How can you not smile when you see fireworks?

Today I had a First. I was pulled over today. Seeming as how I have never been pulled over, I was a little upset. Luckily I just got a warning, but it still was not the best start to my day.

On a happier note. Today marks the 2 year anniversary of when Jesse and I first met! Good ol' EFY days! We got in our counselor group of 4 and Jesse was smitten from the beginning. I thought he was cute and by the end of the week... we had our first date!

Quotes of the Day

Well it's only 1:15pm and I've said or heard some great things today!

It started this morning when I was telling Jesse that I need a plain brown skirt just like my brown polka dotted one. It's got an elastic band waist for comfort and it's made out of a stretchy comfortable material that makes it good for spinning. (That was a big deal for me as a child and is still a bonus) I then proceeded to tell Jesse that it's the perfect material because it shows off my "swishy" parts. I'm not exactly sure what "swishy parts" are, but that's apparently what this skirt accentuates!

The next occurred when I was talking to my mother. She was in the grocery store buying tomatoes and lettuce for my brother's seminary council get-together and apparently got a frustrating cart. I would hear random things as we were talking such as, "This cart really has troubles" "If this cart was a person, it would be called senile" "Now it's jumping" "I have to pull it from the front because it doesn't go where I want it to go and the tomatoes and lettuce don't weigh enough to make it go straight." "I'm just wondering aimlessly around the store" Then at the end of her grocery shopping experience I heard "Now I hope my tomatoes weren't squished by the lettuce after all that!" Oh the joy that conversation gave me.

And the third star moment was during this same conversation with my mom. We were talking about facebook and she told me, "I talked on two people's walls today." haha. That made me chuckle as well! She's trying to get the hang of facebook, and her "talking on people's walls" is a big accomplishment!
