I have joined the Future.

I finally upgraded my phone.

Because I am on my family's plan, it seemed that anytime an upgrade was available it was just in the nick of time because someone had dropped, spilled on, or sat on their phone and needed a new one. I seemed to be the one responsible person who never broke my phone, so the upgrades went to everyone else.

I had my trusty Chocolate for five years. {Like the summer I met Jesse (2007) and through the first four years of our marriage (2012). That's a long time.}
I absolutely LOVED this phone. And it was tough.

When it finally bit the dust, my family had used all the upgrades we had available to get them all brand new phones, so I "upgraded" to a smart phone which was merely Jesse's old phone. But that was ok. I was sad to see my Chocolate go, but as everyone does, I quickly adapted to my new found internet capabilities at the tip of my fingers.

I then went through a series of these same phones. When something happened to Jesse's I got my dad's, when I somehow sent that one through the washing machine, it was back to my spot covered old one, and when I couldn't stand only seeing half my screen any longer, we found one on craigslist.

And then the moment finally arrived.
One lone upgrade popped up. And I claimed it.
And now this pretty little Moto X is mine. And I'm in love.

I did get to design it, so I chose the white front, turquoise back, purple accent color...

And of course, the inscription on the bottom.

Jesse keeps stealing it and wanting to play with it.
So I know I'm cool.

Fun with Papa

I'm having to play a little catch up, but that's ok.
When we were in Utah last month, we stayed with Jesse's parents (aka Mimi and Papa) and Papa showed the boys a good time.

A Mellow "Real" Birthday

Since we threw our big bash in Utah, we had a very low key actual birthday for the kiddos.

I still tried to make it a little special though.

We blew bubbles in the bath tub, went for a walk, ate popsicles, went out to lunch at IHOP, watched Super Why, and of course ate cupcakes!

{Yes, these are as good as they get with two babies.}

And I figured since they don't really know about presents anyway, I wasn't going to feel bad about not getting them any! How about that for Mom of the Year?

But I did break down and get them a little something.
You know, so they can keep working on their piano skills.

I probably should have been smart and bought two from the get-go. We'll probably be ordering another one.

Oh and they also got new carseats. Finally.
We took them for a test run in the living room, with some Super Why.
Maybe we watch too much Super Why? I seriously love that show. Oh, and so do the boys.

Teething Update/The Plague Continues?

Well the plot thickened.

After a day and a half of 100-101 degree fevers and miserable babies, the fever broke. I was happy, I figured they would be happy, and then I saw spots.

Yes, spots.
On Briggs' belly.

Briggs also started pulling at his ears.
GRRRR...

What the heck?
That threw me for a loop.

So who knows what's going on.
I'm still think teeth are on the horizon and see one little one coming in on Briggs.
But now I also wonder if we got a mild case of the chicken pox from their chicken pox vaccine?
And maybe we have another ear infection?
BLARGH. I DON'T KNOW!

I decided to wait it out and see what happens for a few days.

Seriously, how come they don't give you more training when you become a parent?
I babysat my younger siblings for years, observed and mentally critiqued many parents, and completed three years of nursing school and I still don't have the slightest idea what I'm doing!

I know I appear as cool as a cucumber {ha!} but being a parent stresses me out.

Oh, and to top it off, Briggs hit his head and now has this lovely bruise on his forehead. The pictures don't do it justice because he was not cooperating, but it's there, and it's quite lovely.
