Last Year....

I was reflecting on the excitement going on in our lives last year at this time. We were on the countdown to being married.... with only 3 days to go! (In fact I think I still have a dry erase board from this time last year that says "4 days til we get married!"), we were finishing finals, moving out of apartments, and trying to get down to St. George as soon as possible!

I looked back at some texts from April 22, 2008 and they just made me laugh:

--"It's going to be sunny and perfect friday! Can't wait! Sure love ya! -Aunt Jen
--"I miss you sweetie! We leave for St. George TOMORROW! We get married on FRIDAY! AUGH! -Jesse
--"Only 3 more nights of sleeping alone! -Aunt Linda

And a classic from the 23rd:
--"We'll be in STG tonight! And we get married in LESS THAN TWO DAYS! I'm so excited my arms are tingling!" -Jesse

Oh the excitement! And now it's already been almost a YEAR! Time goes by so fast and so slow at the same time! I can hardly believe a year has passed but at the same time, I feel like we have already been married forever... (and I mean that in the best possible way) :)

I am so lucky to be married to Jesse. He is perfect for me! I love him so much!

6:45am?

Well I have to wake up around 6:45 on Tuesday and Thursday mornings because I have to go to work. And as I'm sure you're aware, today is NOT a Tuesday or a Thursday and I had my alarm set for a beautiful 8:15am since I don't have to be anywhere until 10.... But of course today is the day I can't sleep in past 6:45! GRRRRR. So I figured I could get caught up on blogging and then start my all day date with the library, my chem book, and my geology book. Should be a delightful day......

I looked out the window and what did I see?

Definitely NOT Popcorn on our trees! IT IS APRIL! Are you kidding me! Who the heck likes this much snow in April?! As you can see I was not very happy about having several inches of snow yesterday but I will be the first to admit that it was BEAUTIFUL! I wish I could have just roamed yesterday and taken fun pictures but instead I had to go to work. So I took some on my way! I'm sure that's very safe! This one was fairly safe actually. I stopped to get gas and saw this awesome tree! I couldn't pass it up!

This is outside my house. The trees were actually so heavy that some branches were pushed clear down to about my waist!

Walking in a winter wonderland....
This cracked me up! This is our neighbor's car Haha!

Provo and it's weather.... I don't know how I feel about it!

On a happier note- Jesse and I received new callings in our ward! We are now the nursery leaders! We're pretty excited about it. We had our first week in there last Sunday and there are some really cute kids! Some are a little harder than others but for the most part they are dang cute!

I guess I mastered teaching my Marriage and Family Relations class.... Apparently we have marriage figured out and they want us to explore the kid route! haha! That's my assumption anyway....

EASTER!

Happy Easter to us! New fun socks for me and a couple of sweet ties for Jesse. Very fun!

This is probably the best part about holidays though. We have discovered if you go to Maceys the day after the holiday ends, then you can get these fun little cookies for .99 each! That's awesome! They're normally around 3 or so dollars but there's no way I'd pay for that now that I know you can get them for $1 right after the holiday! So we stocked up because these are amazing!!

If that doesn't make you happy, I don't know what will!

Easter dinner was spent at Jesse's parent's house with the whole gang. All of Jesse's sisters were there with their families so we had a full house. It was very fun!

A Time and a Season

ECCLESIASTES 3:1 says: To every thing there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven.

I've been thinking a lot about this scripture lately. I've been feeling a little burdened with life and feeling like I'm not the wife I could or should be. My sweet husband cooks dinner ("cooks" is used rather loosely but it's because of him that we eat) and does way more dishes than I do and kind of keeps our lives flowing. I do clean which makes me feel like I contribute a little bit... but I haven't been feeling like I do the wifely things that I should.

Then I put things into perspective...

I remember this scripture and realize that since I get home between 6:30 and 7 every night it's not overly plausible for me to cook and do all the other things that need to be done. This semester I have had school Monday and Wednesday from 10am-7pm and I work on Tuesday and Thursday from 8am-6ish. I've just been so busy that I keep feeling like I fall short in everything I SHOULD be doing.

And then Jesse reminds me, that our roles will change eventually. Someday I will just have my house to take care of and do the wifely/motherly things that need to be done and Jesse will be putting in the hours of work. Things happen when they do for a reason and there is a specific time for all things. This gives me so much comfort in life when I that that things will work out in the timing that is best.

Things all have their time and season and right now, our lives are just busy and it's just trying to hold on tight and enjoy the ride!

SICK SICK SICK

Sorry I haven't posted lately... here's what's been going on:

I was lucky enough to get to throw my good friend Alise a Bridal Shower on the 27 and we had a blast! Alise is such a sweetheart that I was so excited to do this for her and she had an amazing turn out! We had lots of ice cream for our sugar high and lots of chatty girls for our gossip high. I'd call it a success!

Good friends from High School. Haylee , me, Lauren, and Kara. And since I'm awesome and forgot to pull out my camera till the very end when it was just the four of us sitting here, i have no pictures with Alise! Maybe another time I'll be smart.... but not this time!

And pretty much as soon as everyone had left my house for the shower, I got really sick. I'm not quite sure why. I blame the brownies.... they were too rich and delicious.... but I ended up sleeping outside our bathroom door Friday night on our couch cushions since I felt like I was going to throw up every 20 minutes!

It must not have been the brownies though because the next day I was still sick and just laid on our couch all day and Sunday I woke up feeling slightly better but Jesse woke up sick! It's been so ridiculous! We have just alternated turns of being sick for the last week! NOT FUN! It's especially bad when both of you are sick! But some neighbors of ours just reminded us that it could be worse.... we could have kids and both be sick! I don't know how anyone gets things done when they are both sick and have kids that still need their attention! Shout out to all you parents who have done that! I'm so impressed!

On an unrelated note... I turned in my application to UVU's nursing program yesterday! I just need to take the TEAS test sometime in the near future and pray that I do well enough on it for them to let me in! It's a little nerve-wracking for me!

Also on an unrelated note.... My family is up here this weekend because my brother is playing in the state band competition, and they brought Jesse and I an early Anniversary gift! I was SOOOOO excited!

This is SUCH a fun game! So if anyone is bored and wants to play! We're down like China Town! You can pretty much play 2-12 players! What other game gives you that kind of versatility?! I don't know of any!

Anyway... sorry for the crazy post of everything! The flu or whatever we had just knocked us out for a few days! We're back with the living though so not to worry!

11 months!

Wow.. We've been married for 11 months, today! That's almost a YEAR! Time sure does fly by! I'm so grateful for my sweet husband! Life has been an adventure since we got married and I can hardly wait to continue on our journey towards eternity. As far as life goes... we're still just schooling and working! We're just keeping busy and enjoying life!
