Things I Love | 21 Months

21 Months

This one is relatively brief, but I tried to touch on a few things about these adorable kids.

Ian

1. Loves phones, laptops, and all other electronics. But they also make him more upset than anything else I have seen. He loves to type on it so he gets frustrated when he clicks out of the text box. We try to limit his phone time because it's not worth the tantrum.

2. He is s a little more dominate right now. If he starts doing something (screaming, running, or anything else) Briggs tends to follow.

3. He loves pushing things around the house.

4. Whenever he sees a picture he points out the people, but he usually only says "mama," "dada," or "bapa" (grandpa)

5. He says several words now including "no, no, no" "eyes," "nose," "snow," (both nose and snow is pronounced "nooo") "duck," "truck," "baby," "roll," "uh-oh," "poop" and "snack" (nack). He probably said more at the time, but I can't remember!

6. He still gallops everywhere he goes. He is just such a bouncy little thing.

7. He loves pointing out other people's eyes and noses.

8. He loves snow! (As does Briggs)

Briggs

1. He jumps off anything he can. He especially loves jumping down the stairs.

2. He can catch a ball. He especially loves playing ball up and down the stairs. He will stand at the top of the stairs and you will throw the ball up to him (which if you're a good throw he will catch at the top of the stairs) and then he throws it back down the stairs at you.

3. He holds his sippy cup just a little cockeyed and drinks out of the corner of his mouth. 

4. He colors more than Ian. Every time they bring home pictures from nursery, (which is quite possibly my favorite thing) Briggs will have a whole bunch of scribbles on his paper, and there will only be a couple on Ian's. Or perhaps the nursery leaders have drawn on Ian's picture. 

5. He sleep talks! There have been a few different times that we have heard him mumbling or laughing at night and think he is awake, but he's still out cold. Just another way he is like his mama. 

6. He loves cars. He has all of the sudden discovered them and he loves to push cars and trucks around all day.

7. He still loves signing time and will do the sign for "sign" when he wants to watch signing time.  

8. One day we were doing alphabet stickers and he said "I" twice in a row when he got an I. I thought that couldn't possibly be a coincidence, because I hadn't worked on letters with them at all, but then he also said "O" with each O he encountered, and also signed "Z" and did a little kick with each "K" he saw. I was blown away, because like I said, we had not practiced letters at all! I guess I have Super Why to thank?

A few other things to note:

They both cry for a couple of minutes when dropped off at Nursery, but after that they do great.

They have finally started playing really well together and independent of me. I think it has helped getting a whole bunch of new toys for Christmas and having more space in our new house for them to run around.

They have become bad sleepers. All of December, we were at my parents' house, and we shared a room, so anytime they woke up and were cold or wouldn't go back to sleep right away, I would just pull them into bed with me (since Jesse was out of town). They had never been in our bed before then, but Ian in particular grew fond of it quickly and he is a big fan of sleeping snuggled up with his mama.

They still love to sit together in their wagon or on their little airplane. It cracks me up.

They are such a joy to be around. They are just happy and hilarious and keep us on our toes! We can't get enough of their spunky little personalities.
