Dorius June Staycation

This summer we had the opportunity to do a couple of staycations down in St. George with my immediate family. It's a cute group of 10 of us, and we have so much fun together!

We spent a good amount of time out at the lake on "Grandpa's boat."
That is definitely my happy place.

These two pictures seem to be the only photographic evidence I have that my mom was actually there with us.

The boys were big fans of jumping off the boat, although they had to hold our hands while they jumped.

We all had a blast wakeboarding.

{in case it wasn't obvious enough, Kadin practices more than the rest of us.}

And of course we had some epic crashes as well!

And some salutes.

I then summoned my inner Skipper and tried to drive so my dad could ski. Despite my driving skills {or the lack thereof}, he still managed to get up and make it look easy.

So the rest of us decided to give skiing another go. None of us kids have ever been good at it, and we spent more of our time looking like this.

or this

or this.

Until finally we all made it up at some point!

We also spent a night camping. In 100 degree weather.
It was hot, but still fun!

And of course some scum was in order for our staycation to be complete!

Another huge highlight was hiking Angel's Landing.
But that deserves it's own blog post.
So it'll be coming!

FHE Peacocks

When the boys were asking to watch peacock shows and requesting to be peacocks, we knew what we would be doing for FHE that night.

That's right, my genius husband thought of the best way to be peacocks.
The boys were in heaven.

And as if the peacocks weren't funny enough, we decided to try acting out the letters of the alphabet.
This little family of ours cracks us up!

First Day of Preschool!

Today was the first day of preschool for these boys of ours!

We started the day with a bath and a breakfast of champions.

We then played for a few hours before school started, and then the last hour turned to crunch time, as usual.
They didn't eat lunch great, they were a little more grumpy than their usual selves, and it was a struggle to get their clothes and shoes on. I broke out in a sweat trying to get them ready and we still ended up about 10 minutes late. But we will try again on Thursday!

We walked over to Preschool with their huge backpacks, and Briggs had to bring his blanket on the walk.

Their cute teacher runs a "Busy Bee Preschool" so of course we needed a Busy Bee picture as we walked in.

{Oh my heavens they melt my heart!}
Also worth mentioning is that Ian has been potty training over the past few days and went to Preschool in his underwear and was a total rockstar.

And then I realized I had TWO hours to myself! TWO hours! That's like an eternity when I'm by myself.
I could get used to that.

And then I picked up my littles and their teacher said that they did great but that they might need to learn how to be humans a little more and not just animals.
Probably true.
