I have always had the thought in the back of my mind that in my next life I should be a photographer. Not necessarily because I know what I'm doing, but simply because I have so much fun! I have loved taking pictures of my kids, and even though they aren't necessarily professional, I have captured some sweet moments and have gotten increasingly better since I started taking pictures two years ago.
I just love doing it.
So of course I was excited when my sister asked if I would take pictures of her Preference group for their school dance several weeks ago. This was a new concept to me because I'm old and there used to be a photographer in a gym who would take everyone's pictures, but apparently that method is no longer.
Our lighting wasn't perfect but we sure had a lot of fun!
And then when the mom of one of the girls saw the pictures she asked if I could take some Senior Pictures of her son. After the fun I had with the Preference group, of course I couldn't say no! Plus he had a banjo. Awesome. I definitely made him play me some tunes.
I had not felt the creative juices flowing like that in so long.
It was heavenly..

Oh yeah, and also it was freezing. It snowed in St. George that morning but we still persevered and did pictures anyway.
So there you have it. My secret obsession.
So maybe instead of waiting until my next life, I will try to incorporate a little more photography in my current life. Of course I will have to continue being a nurse to pay for my photography obsession, but that's alright.
Plus I still have a ton to learn.
And the first thing on my list of incorporating photography into my life is taking my brother's engagement pictures in the next couple of weeks.
I can hardly wait.
