Five Months of Alba

{Oct}

1. She's become an official thumb sucker.

2. Ever since her four month immunizations, she hasn't slept through the night. She's usually just up once or twice, but I already miss those days!

3. She can scoot backwards, pivot in a circle on her belly, and obviously still rolls both directions. The gate at the top of the stairs has been installed.

4. She laughs best for Ian, next for Mama, then Briggs, and then Daddy. Poor daddy has to really work for her giggles. Ian basically just has to look at her.

5. She can get up on her hands/forearms and her knees! I don't know where she thinks she's going, but she wants to move

6. She's still a big fan of the bouncer and loves to be hanging out wherever we are.

7. She poops all the time and usually blows out of at least one if not more outfits a day. It's almost a guarantee that she will blow out in her carseat if she's in it for longer than a few minutes.

8. She spits all the time!

9. I finally gave in and let her try some rice cereal. She wasn't immediately sold on it and kept spitting out about everything I put in her mouth but she would at least open her mouth for more. I think as she figures out the texture and swallowing aspects of eating solids she'll be a bigger fan.

10. The three kids are so cute together. The boys are so sweet and kind to her and constantly want to kiss and touch her and she usually loves it. We feel so blessed that they have transitioned to their role as big brothers so smoothly. I think the worst thing we have had happen is just them shouting at me that "Alba is stilled in your tummy!" I'll take it.

{She's super into toys. She loves everything we give her.}

{The back rolls and ruffle bum tights were killing me at church. She's adorable.}

{Bath time is still her favorite time. She splashes constantly while she's in there. But she is growing out of her little tub. It's making me a little sad.}

The Good Life

It was a chilly morning the other day, so we turned on the fire and cozied up in our pajamas together. The boys both sat on my lap and I snapped a picture. It felt so good to snuggle up with these sweet boys who made me a Mama.

Then Briggs quickly asked if we could put Alba on my lap too so she could be in the pictures.
And my Mama heart burst with love for these three.
I was simply overwhelmed at how good my life is right now.

A lap full of my babies.
Motherhood is my jam.

These babies are my whole world. (And of course their cute dad.)
It is such a good life.

Four Months of Alba

{September}
Our Chunky Monkey had her four month appointment and here are her stats.

Weight 17lbs 8oz (94th percentile)
Height 25in (75th percentile)
OFC 16.1in (57th percentile)

 These boys absolutely adore their sister.
I cannot keep them away from her cute face.
And she adores them right back.

She is just the squishiest, happiest, smiliest baby anyone could ask for and we adore every minute with her.

Here's what she's up to this month.

1. She's rocking size 3 diapers and 6-12 month clothes.

2. Sleeping through the night, and oh is it glorious! (it literally took the boys until they were 4 years old to consistently sleep through the night, so this is heaven sent!)

3. Rolls both ways now and has learned to travel with her rolling.

4. Laughs the sweetest laugh. She seems to laugh best for mama and the boys and her poor daddy has to work so hard to hear any giggles.

5. She's super interested in food or drinks that I'm eating. She watches very intently, reaches for them, and smacks her lips. The doctor gave the OK to start her on cereal but I waited until 6 months with the boys and I'm having a hard time thinking about my baby already starting on solids! I'll probably start giving her some cereal here pretty soon. I have no idea how she's going to respond though because she spits out her vitamins, immunizations, and tylenol, so I'm curious to see how she does with food.

6. She has really discovered toys and loves them. She reaches, holds them, and brings them to her mouth.

7. She chews on EVERYTHING. I'm almost convinced she's actually teething based on the amount of drool and chewing that has been going on.

8. She's really into her feet right now. Anytime she is laying on her back she has her feet up and is holding on to them. It makes diaper changes just a little tricky.

9. She is so social and loves her brothers. She would be perfectly content to have them sit and chat with her all day.

10. She loves her bouncy chair. She can hang out in it for the longest time just watching everything that is happening. It saves me some days when I'm trying to get things done.

We were driving in the car and the boys suddenly started laughing and saying, "Alba's a pirate!" I had no idea what they meant until we stopped and I saw this.

Per Ian, they were a "two-headed snake."

This baby is my buddy and we can't get enough of her. She's the perfect addition and we love her smiley self.
