Sunday Fun Day

It seems like every Sunday quickly turns into my favorite day.

We walk in to church hoping we can make it without causing too much of a ruckus.

And once we are home, the boys always have a blast with their dad.

And who wouldn't? He's pretty awesome.

Look at these great games they come up with!

Although if truth be told, Briggs might have planted the seed for this game.

  

I especially love that they were all still in their church clothes, because we literally had been home all of 5 minutes before this went down.

Turns out though that the rug tends to take off their pants. 

Which totally cracked me up! haha 

And after the roll-ups came the frogs, hopping around and ribbiting. 

I think this is the first time they have pretended to be an animal.

And most of the rest of the day was spent on our new tramp!  

And then I found a praying mantis.

And was brave enough to hold it so my kiddos could experience it! 

And then we put it in a jar so they could watch it longer. 

They were in heaven. 

And immediately when we let the praying mantis go we scooped up a different bug. 

Briggs would not put this jar down. 

I just don't think days get better than rug rolling, ribbiting, jumping, bug collecting days.

This Sunday was exactly what we needed.

Zoo Day

Last week Mimi and Papa offered to make a trip to the zoo with us, my SIL, and her little girl who is the boys' closest cousin.

These were the faces on my  boys when we arrived.

They immediately saw the animatronic dinosaurs and started roaring. haha!

Trains are still the greatest thing ever for these boys, so of course we had to watch the train. 

The dinosaurs are sure fun there. The boys were very intrigued by this baby dinosaur in particular.

They sat straight up in their stroller while we watched those funny dinosaurs.

They were hilarious when we saw the monkeys and immediately chimed "oo-oo, ah-ah!"

I love that they are staring at this giant elephant and the T-Rex the same way in these two pictures! haha

We watched the seal and sea lion show which was pretty entertaining.

Maybe I should have tried harder to get the boys to look at the camera.

We rode the carousel although {I}had no desire to sit on an animal, so he rode on my hip.

And {B} did not change facial expressions the entire time.

The second time around we tried this big bench and that seemed good except they still remained pretty stone faced.

These ice cream cones were half cones. I don't know what kind of half cone is this gigantic, but by the time I ate my cone (which became {I's} cone), and licked all the drips from their cones, I'm sure I ate at least 2 ice cream cones.

They have flavored ice cream that I never knew could exist. I decided to get the banana flavored one, and boy was it delicious. Next time you're at Hogle Zoo, pick up the banana flavored ice cream.

The kiddos were very intrigued by this hissing cockroach. 

And of course they had to touch it. 

Gross.

And once again, we wore them right out!

It was just the most perfect day!
