The boys' birthday ended up being thrown together a little last minute, but I'm glad we at least did something to celebrate these cute boys of ours!

Oh yeah, and the day after he turned two Briggs sliced open his nose on the tv stand. I even tried to super glue it a little more closed the day after it happened (since that was when I got back in town) but I don't know if it made much of a difference. We have definitely been caking it in neosporin, Vitamin E, and some A&D ointment. Thankfully it's healing pretty well. Poor kid.

Jesse had been gone for a couple of weeks and got home roughly 18 hours before I left for a girls weekend, so we squished in a trip to the aquarium (particularly for our fish loving Briggs) and some cake and ice cream in that time.

We were lucky that Mimi and Papa would take some time out of their day to come celebrate with us.
Briggs was in HEAVEN.
That child absolutely loves fish.
Ian on the other hand didn't care much for the fish, could only be contained on shoulders, and preferred to be running away from us down the ramps.
And let me tell you something... he is so darn fast.
Briggs could have sat and watched those fish for hours.
And Ian did slow down a couple of times to point out letters and check out fish. But only for a minute.
Ian thought he had hit the motherload though when we got home and he found all these balloons!
He was happy as could be. Until he couldn't hold all the balloons he wanted in one hand.
{Yes, he got up to 4 balloons in each hand. The kid has skills.}
If we would have had a real party, I would have pursued an awesome airplane party.
Since we were lucky to even be celebrating at all, this cake, the cloud balloons, and these giant blown up airplanes were as good as it got.
Ian was not a fan of us singing Happy Birthday! haha
And I must say, this lemon cake was a hit. The boys gobbled up every last bite.
They still don't really get the idea of presents, but Ian thought the bow was pretty neat.
And Briggs was a fan of this sun on the box!
I kind of gave up taking pictures after these two, but they got these cute Eastery Tigger and Pooh-bear from my grandparents, clothes, "yes" and "sorry" buttons (like their "No" button), giant sucks, and probably more that I can't remember from Mimi and Papa, sidewalk chalk and race cars from my aunt and uncle's family, and honestly nothing from us! haha. I'm such a lame mom.
These pictures sum up life with 2 year old twins perfectly.
And we definitely wore them out because at the end of the day they were both just lazing about on the floor!
We love these boys so much! They make our life so full of laughter and happiness. They are just as sweet (and busy) as they come! We are lucky parents!
